Akara grew up in Brooklyn, New York surrounded by his three brothers and two sisters. The son of a lawyer and an accountant who ran their own practices, Akara was interested in business from a young age. His curiosity led him to a career in finance, first at Goldman Sachs and subsequently at a large investment firm in New York City. Despite his career as an investor, Akara loves to get into the weeds and has served as a formal and informal advisor to several companies of all sizes. These days, Akara is getting back to his entrepreneurial roots and looking to build a world class company.
 
Akara received his BS from MIT and his MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business.
